Synopsis: To the world, Yi Lian Kai is a rich playboy who cares very little about his filial responsibilities, compared to his talented elder brothers who falls in love with the daughter of a military officer who has fallen out of favor. Qin Sang, on the other hand is his unwilling bride who he used every means possible to marry, despite the fact that she still harbors feelings for her crush who disappears without a word. In the beginning of this coerced marriage, she rejects all his advances and gestures of love, but they slowly develop a stable partnership through the chaos from the constant battles for land and power between the different warlords. Ep 4 recap: Yi Lian Kai and Yi Lian Shen both receive news of their father’s attempted assassination but in order for Yi Lian Kai and Qin Sang to return to Fu Yuan where his father resides, they must cross over Li Chong Nian’s their enemies’ territory. Yi Lian Kai knows that the route back via a train would not work but as the old chinese saying goes the safest place is the most obvious place so he decides to take a risk and ask his friend Min Hong Yu to walk right into General Li’s territory and cross the border under the eye of General Li’s border patrol. Meanwhile, Yi Lian Shen deals with his disgruntled officers who are vying for power now that they know General Li may be on his deathbed.
