Synopsis: Li Xia, an employee in a startup video game company is trapped inside the new virtual otome game that her company has developed after a few bugs prevents her from leaving the virtual world she was transported into. There, she meets the Emperor and the lead male character of the game who has disguised himself as an eunuch to try and escape from the stifling court affairs. After saving her from drowning twice, she and the Emperor strike up a strange and comedic relationship which slowly blossoms to a sweet touching love story.
- The lantern festival/ Shangyuan festival: So this was the first full moon in the year (of the lunar calendar) which means the 15th of the first month of the year according to the lunar calendar. It got it’s name because the people would hang up lanterns to make wishes. The four activities mentioned in the drama are just a few that happens: 1) Welcoming Zigu: Zigu was a poor but kind girl who died in poverty and to commemorate her and remember her kindness, women would make a female toy, Zigu would talk to it, do housework around her. 2) Another is offering sacrifices: like putting preparing wine and meat and putting it by your doorstep. 3) solving lantern riddles: Riddles will be written on bits of paper and stuck on colorful lanterns. Often beautiful lanterns will be given to the ones who solve the most or the hardest riddles. 4) Rid the rats: This begun by families who have silkworms as rats were pests who ate the silkworms. They would offer lots of porridge for the rats so that the rats won’t eat the silkworms.
- Qingshang song: This is a type of music that is only allowed in Imperial banquets or the events of the nobles during the southern dynasties.
- Tying our hair: This is usually part of the wedding ceremony where the bride and groom would cut off a lock of their hair and tie it into an eternity knot in hopes that their marriage will be happy eternally and that they will be together forever wherever in life or death
