Synopsis: Song Yu Die (Zheng Shuang) is a renowned chef in Hangzhou city with a mysterious identity. She grew up learning how to cook from her adopted mother who is also a brilliant chef and the owner of the famous restaurant Tianxiang restaurant. Her sweetheart Li Ma (Ray Ma) is the adopted son of her mother and she knows that they will marry when they grow up. However things change when she encounters Prince Zhao Yuan Qing and Li Ma heads off to the battlefield to build a career for himself. Meanwhile beneath the prosperity, a threat lurks in the background and together with Li Ma, Zhao Yuan Qing she may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save it…..

Notes:

  1. Nourishing broth: In this case it’s more like a broth to give you more energy and “heat” you up. According to traditional chinese medicine, the temperatures in your body must be balanced for you to be healthy so often nourishing broths will heat you up and give you energy.
  2. Little sesame: It’s a stab at the fact that her face is covered with black dots
  3. Donkey blood: This is a type of traditional chinese medicine given to people who have lost a lot of blood, often for women after they’ve had a miscarriage or had a heavy period
  4. His/her…: In chinese his and her and she and him and it sound exactly the same. You only know from the context it’s spoken in
  5. My dear mother: It’s an exclamation with a similar meaning to omg or heavens

  9. Thank you for picking this up after L&R and taking a well deserved rest . I know it had low ratings and was taken off the air before the final episode but I’m kind of hooked on the characters
