Translator notes:

  1. The shoots in this episode meant bamboo shoots. You cannot eat bamboo shoots raw as it contains toxins called Cyanogenic Glycosides (type of cyanide) which means it will starve your cells of oxygen. Only cooking and canning them will break this toxin down.
  2. Orange capped amanita (or fly agaric): This is a mushroom that contains ibotenic acids which converts to muscimol and means that it can be fatal in large quantities if prepared incorrectly, however most people usually only get symptoms such as nausea, sweating and hallucinations. Interestingly this was the mushroom that was supposed to be the mushroom responsible for Alice’s trip to wonderland.

  1. Thanks for the subs!!!

I forgot her name already, but I hope the new friend is actually kind because she had this uncertain look on her face when they met. Maybe she’s just not good with strangers. She looked awkward and unsure when asked to sell the sprouts too. So maybe she’s just shy. I feel bad she’s still sitting on the street all alone :/

  2. Appreciating the commitment you put into your blog and detailed information you present. It’s awesome to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed information. Wonderful read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
